Why I do this work
Six convictions carry everything on this site. They were not arrived at quickly, and they are not held lightly.
Leadership is formation
Leaders are not manufactured by technique. They are formed — slowly, deliberately, in community — the way character is formed.
Identity before performance
What a leader produces should flow from who they are, not compensate for who they fear they are not.
Healthy leaders build healthy organisations
An institution can never be healthier than the interior life of the people who lead it. Organisational change begins as personal formation.
Rhythm over grinding
A machine runs continuously until it breaks down. A heart beats in rhythm — effort and recovery. Sustainable impact comes from rhythm — Daily Pulse, Weekly Wave, Quarterly Pivot, and an Annual Sabbath grown into over time — not from perpetual intensity.
Restoration after fracture
And when leaders do break — and they do — the work is not disposal but restoration. Nobody is beyond rebuilding.
People before institutions
Institutions last only as long as the people who carry them are being built. Build the people first; the institutions will follow.
The rhythms give the cornerstones a delivery system. The cornerstones give the rhythms their heart.
Rhythms

Values
Build what lasts by building the people who will carry it.
